Parent Island: Invasion
From adventures in new parenting:
The Little Lord grows ever more paranoid against invasion.
I have observed him whenever an aeroplane of any sort passes overhead—he will excitedly call it out, alerting his defense ministers to its presence. How they might hope to respond against an actual airstrike, I haven’t an inkling; they merely acknowledge the plane as well and compliment the Little Lord on his perception.
Has a rival threatened invasion, that the Little Lord must stand vigilant against? Was there a past episode, which continues to keep him wary? I cannot venture to say.
Only, I have seen how the Little Lord increasingly maneuvers his small replicas of planes, along with automobiles, trains and construction vehicles, using the ground for his makeshift sand table. With these, he plans and plots defenses—and yet, if these replicas are meant to represent any actual military hardware of his, I have certainly never seen evidence of such.
It may be the defense ministers merely keep giving the Little Lord more of these replicas in order to placate his troubled mind. The deception allows him to pretend he is in possession of a vast military force, and thus to sleep better knowing his island remains secure.
